Summer Tasks

Summer Task 1

Image result for venom poster

This poster shows how the character has split personalities and that he has to live and deal with his two lives which have been merged into one. It is clear that the character’s worlds have collided. This is also shown by the facial expressions being different on both sides of the character. They both portray the attitudes of each personality.

Let’s the viewer know straight away which genre it is and what the tone will be throughout the film. This gives the viewer a brief overview of what experience the film will provide them.

This part of the poster shows how one side of his life is taking over and invading his other life. This further shows how his worlds are colliding.

The lighting is lighter on his human side and darker on his symbiote side. This shows how half of the character’s life is brighter and less gritty than the other.

Let’s audience know where the film will be set. This informs the audience what environment a lot of the scenes will take place in.

Summer Task 2

The Deutschland 83 trailer starts off with slow paced music which is rather loud and intense. This songs sets the tone for the entire show. As the trailer progresses the music becomes very fast paced. Action sequences are played during this part of the song. The use of fast paces music during the action sequences is a deliberate choice to highlight how exciting and grand the action set pieces are in the show. The trailer also features a lot of cuts. This shows how the show will not be boring or too slow paced throughout. It also makes it harder to make out what is going on.This means when you watch the show you won't know what is going to happen.

Summer Task 3

Image result for daily mail manchester Image result for the guardian newspaper terrorist

The guardian portrays the Manchester arena attack as a 'murder' whereas the Daily Mail portrays it as more like a terrorist attack. They also use more obvious titles to show the reader the severity and importance of this event. However the guardian does not use large font to show their readers what has happened. This could show that the Guardian is trying to calm down the reader of what has happened. Whereas the Daily Mail is somewhat promoting the tragedy and trying to enrage the reader. The daily mail has more of a negative effect on the reader as it is angering the reader.

Image result for are you beach body ready

The banned 'Are you beach body ready?' ad is saying to its viewers that you need a specific body to wear a bikini and have a skinny body to go to the beach. This is giving out the message that you have to be a specific stature. This is very disrespectful to people with weight problems. Compare this to the 'This girl can' ad campaign which is showing its audience that any woman can do anything if they try. This is much less condescending and much more inspirational. The'Beach body ad campaign also uses a white female whereas the 'This girl can' ad campaign uses people
of all races and ethnicity. This appeals to all people rather than just white females.
